Hi Maria,

There seems to be quite a few of us new to all this on the site and we are trying to come to terms with it and waiting for the drugs to get in to our bodies.

I can only speak for myself but I'm sure that many of you have heard and had the symptoms time and time again that we are mentioning but I can assure you that the support and advice we get from many of you who have had this awful disease for a long time really does help us.

Long may it continue.

Hi Maria,

I would agree with you in lots of us being affected at this time. I personally think it's the severe cold we are experiencing. We have had the coldest and most snow this year than I can ever remember. Last year was almost as bad,but not as much snow. Having said that the temperatures were almost as bad as in Norway. Coupled with the damp it does not make a good combination. In fact if we lived in Norway we would all be sent to Spain for a week in the sun, that's what they do for they're RA patients. Smile

Take care and look after yourself.

Not your imagination I think so too, think they are putting cheaper ingredients in the drugs and the weather is not helping at all !!Smile

Thanks Annie. It's good to hear that we help: it dosen't matter that we hear things time and time again- it's important that new sufferers are able to express their concerns and get some much needed support and understanding. I was diagnosed 3 years ago and still can't get my head round it. My nearest and dearest try to help but it's impossible for them to understand what it really feels like. It does seem as if the number of newly diagnosed sufferers ison the incrase- or maybe it's just that more are joining NRAS.

Lorna and Caroline. I don't seem to remember being this bad in previous winters. I guess that's the nature of the beast- some tims are better than others.

Keep warm everyone!

Compared to how I have felt in the past I am not very good at the moment either. I did ring my specialist nurse up last week to enquire about my blood test result. I increased my MTX end of last November and am still having fortnightly blood test. My CRP had gone up in the test that I had a few days before Christmas and the one I had after, early January (the one that I was enquiring about) had gone up again. She said it may be because of being busy on the lead up to Christmas and over the Christmas period and I may of done too much and suffering the consequences now. Thing is I went to my daughter in Gibraltar for Christmas so I didn't do the busy Christmas thing.

She insisted that I see someone so she altered my next blood test appointment from Monday (next week) to Tuesday so I could see one of the specialist nurse during the consultants clinic. So if need be she can talk to/or I can go and see the consultant.
